We have been operational since December 2011 delivering
2 day courses. One year on we are now able to offer a 5 week ‘comprehensive’ accredited course in Pathology collection, after successfully passing accreditation in December 2012.

‘South West School of Phlebotomy’ and partnering RTO ‘Skill Ease Training’ welcome past and future students to contact us.

Our Phlebotomy, or Venepuncture training course, is open to medical and non-medical students wishing to develop a new skill, or improve on existing skills. All training delivered, is of the highest quality and standards, following the VET guidelines. (Vocational Educational Training)

A career in Phlebotomy
Phlebotomy is a rapidly expanding field with excellent career opportunities. Hospitals are the primary employer of phlebotomy technicians. Other areas that employ phlebotomists are clinics, private physicians’ offices, research centers, and other areas where invasive procedures are performed.

About your Trainer

Carolann Law

Your Training Assessor has had ten years in the nursing profession before starting a career in Phlebotomy, which she has been doing for twelve years.

imageCarolann is a fully qualified Trainer Assessor - Certificate IV through AIWT. "Australian International Institute of Workplace Training".

She has "CERT IV In laboratory Techniques", completed in 2011 through Polytechnic WEST.

Carolann has been teaching at Rockingham General Hospital in many departments, including the new Mental Health Unit, implementing safety needles and procedures.
She has worked on all wards, Maternity, Neonates, Children's Ward, Rehabilitation , General and Surgical wards as well as outpatient clinics, giving her a variety of different procedures for clients needs throughout the hospital system.

All Assistant Training Staff are a qualified Phlebotomists, with a minimum of five years experience or more.
